Bike Makeover

So here's one of the projects I've been working on lately....cuz I have about 100 of them....

my bike makeover....you can see my inspiration bike here....Now....for some reason....the bike doesn't seem as cute in photos as it does in person....but in person....I think she turned out pretty cute....don't blame her for not looking her best....it's just that a complete novice photographer (that would be me) is taking her picture.

So here's her before photo....the brown did nothing for her....it just made her look dull and drab....


but a quick run through a spray can and she looks 10 years younger...don't ya think? (oh...please don't mind the ugly brass light by the door....right after this photo was taken....hubby changed it to our new black carriage lights....looks so much better now.)

Hubby says it looks like the Wicked Witch of the West's bike....kinda does...doesn't it....now I just need a little Toto to fill the basket....hmmm....do you think a little chicken would do?

Shop {Love}

Yep....I have lots and lots of shop {love} for WhiteFlower Farmhouse....Lori and Megan are amazing! I recently called and spoke to Megan because I was looking for some grainsack pillows in a particular size....and Megan was absolutely wonderful....she was so helpful and great about making the pillows for me. I received them yesterday....and they are beyond amazing...that Megan is talented!

the shop always has amazing linens....like these grainsack pillows....

and don't those soaps look yummy....they're like slices of sea glass....love the colors.....

and if I lived closer...this shoe rack would so be mine....

and I'm so lovin' this natural whale....I can think of so many places this could go in my home.

So.....if you haven't visited WhiteFlower Farmhouse....you really must....it's one of my absolute favorite places to shop.

Just Keepin' It Real

Yep....just keepin' it real....

this is how my home will be decorated for the next couple months...

and as you can see....there's lots of building going on....a carnival is being erected....yikes!

complete with roller coasters.....

and raceways.

Decorating talents provided by my 7-year-old son.

I've Been.....

Busy!

planting flowers here.....

and here....

and watching our wildflowers grow....

and grow.....

and grow.....

and these beauties are waiting to be planted in their new homes.....

after we clean up the mess that last nights torrential rain made.....on a side note.....this muddy mess will hopefully turn into grass on Friday.....the plan is to lay 3,300 square feet of sod down....with the help of hubby and my big boy.

And I picked up these great finds....thank you Fern and Sue! These too will be gettin' a makeover.

And all the while.....watching my babies.....grow up.....

as is Charlie.

Oh....and takin' a break every once in a while....to enjoy some of this.

So....in short....I've got lots of projects going on....we've been doing lots of gardening....building....and painting. This is the first time since we've lived here that we are finally getting to the outside....most of our time had been spent on making the inside more "us".....and now we're makin' the outside more "us" too.

And I haven't forgotten about the bike makeover or porch....those things are all being worked on right now....and I'll be sure and share them with you when they're done.
