For The Love of Lavender

I have always loved lavender....

whether in a jar....

on a silver plate....

or in a bowl....

I have always had a thing for lavender. I love scattering bundles around my home...especially in the fall and winter months....just to remind me....that soon....they'll be back again.

Sweet Apple Pie

On Sunday....with the wind blowing...cool temps...and rain...I decided to whip up some apple pie.

After I mixed the dough....rolled it out....put it in my pie dish....added the apple filling....made the chicken cut-outs....and baked it for 30 minutes....

It was all gone....in less then 10 minutes.

I love happy, full tummies.

Another Room Bites The Dust

Another room checked off the list.

This is what was my office up until last Saturday...now it has become our guest bedroom.

And this is where it began...plain white walls.

Being inspired by this fabulous blogger...I decided to do stripes in this small {only 8' x 9'}space...and love the results.

I love the way it turned out...simple and cozy.

The best part about this makeover....it cost only $50.oo in paint and $13.00 for the bamboo blind...that's it. The rest was found "shopping" around the house...including the daybed {which was red...and I painted it a soft gray}.

Another room bites the dust!

Uggghhh.....

Okay....you all know I've been working on re-doing my home....well, the bathroom is pretty much done...except that the professionals haven't come to finish their part....oh, and we have to take a piece of our moulding to a mill shop to have another piece custom made {they just don't make 100-year old moulding anymore}.

Why is it that when you ask others to help {the plumbers, contractors, landscapers, etc...}....they just don't care about getting it done as much as you do...and they're gettin' PAID....I don't get it. It may be that I'm one of those kinda people that wants it done yesterday...you know, when you have an idea, you want to see it happen now...well at least I do.

So...since the bathroom is almost done, I thought I'd start the guest bedroom {I only work on one room at a time}...which up until Friday was my teeny tiny office. It's been painted and now I'm just fluffin' it a bit...I'd like to show you some photos of it....but of course all my office stuff is in boxes....and I can't find the plug {or anything else} to connect my camera to the computer....UGGGHHH!

Playing With Dirt

We've been playing with dirt....

Well....not us actually....but the lucky guys who get to drive these fun toys are. We're having a bit of work done to our property....I just love having work done on our home...with each new project...the home is becoming more and more...ours.

Really...It's Coming

Really....the bathroom project is almost ready.

We have been at it for a couple weeks now....and of course just as we think we're almost done....something happens....and you have to hire a professional.
